Biography

T’keyah Grant is a New York-based writer whose strong sense of social responsibility drives her career in writing and humanitarian work.

 

T’keyah has experience in the nonprofit sector as a part of development teams—most recently as a Grant Writer—for organizations such as The Osborne Association, The Scalabrini International Migration Network, and Orr Group.

 

Through these experiences, T’keyah has gained practical knowledge in business and organizational writing including writing proposals and grants, drafting copy for websites, research, writing annual impact reports, as well as B2B and B2C writing.

 

In her role as a Professional Writer, it is important to T’keyah to maintain a commitment to writing on socio-economic issues to help foster a culture of discourse and learning that can lead in part, to progressive change. 

 

Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, T’keyah embraces the diversity and intersectionality of her identity as a young, Caribbean, multiracial, and immigrant woman. T’keyah’s experiences have given her a unique perspective of our society.

 

With this perspective, she has helped organizations develop a better understanding of client needs, contributed to more informed decision-making, and continues to advocate on behalf of her global community and the issues affecting them.

 

T’keyah holds an MS in Professional Writing from New York University, and a BA in International Studies and Politics & Human Rights with minors in Law & Ethics and Social Work from Marymount Manhattan College.

 

When she isn’t writing, T’keyah enjoys kickboxing, travel, life as a NY sports fan, and quality time with family and friends—which as a self-proclaimed foodie, usually involves something delicious.
